Project Overview

Midwest electrical cooperatives are confronted by increasing DER and weather-related outages. As the system administrator, the co-op sought to manage an aggregated platform, allowing distribution co-ops to manage local loads as a non-wires alternative. One of the distribution member co-ops was introduced to Armada through a large channel partner and saw the potential to address growing summer and winter peaking issues.

Project Scope

The co-op requested support in technical validation, as well as an integration plan to ensure the Armada system architecture would integrate into their engineering, system operations, financial, and member engagement platforms. Armada provided a system architecture roadmap that allowed the co-op to manage a hub-and-spoke system at the G&T level, providing their distribution cooperatives with flexible local control and data access to manage their unique operational requirements. The distribution member co-op has elected to serve as the lead deployment, with additional distribution co-ops engaging after a brief technical validation.
