Project Overview
A Western IOU sought to incorporate advancements in demand management as part of its Integrated Resource Plan (“IRP”). Prior studies have identified distributed energy resources and demand-side management as crucial for advancing long-term renewable generation, modernizing transmission systems, enhancing energy storage, and facilitating consumer access to affordable, clean energy. The utility’s program sought to secure the delivery of megawatt-scale load management that grew in established increments over a 5-year contract. At the end of each 5-year term, the contract is eligible for renewal for additional 5-year increments.
Project Scope
An RFP was issued in mid-2021, with Armada and a leading DERMS software platform provider agreeing to participate in the bidding process. Combined, this approach delivered a turnkey solution with the DERMS provider, acting as the prime contractor. System integration between the Armada systems and the DERMS is on track to meet the utility schedule.
